Georgia Probation Management tailors its services to accommodate each individual court system. Georgia Probation Management works closely with each court to structure the probation standards, develop the sentences, and establish the probation policies.
Georgia Probation Management supervises misdemeanor probationers by monitoring compliance of court ordered conditions, making referrals to community service work, counseling and other appropriate agencies, and addressing violations in a timely manner.
In addition to misdemeanor probation supervision, Georgia Probation Management can provide supervision of other types of cases such as an alternative sentencing program or pre-sentence supervision or pre-trial diversion.
Georgia Probation Management also offers intensive probation services for those offenders in need of additional supervision. Intensive probation, as ordered by the court, requires the offender to adhere to a specific set of conditions that may include specialized counseling, substance abuse testing, community service work among other conditions. These offenders are assigned to a Specialized Probation Officer who has received additional training.
Georgia Probation Management has the ability to obtain criminal histories on offenders as ordered by the court.
Georgia Probation Management has offices throughout the state of Georgia, allowing probationers to be supervised in locations other than their county of conviction. With the court's acceptance, cases can be transferred to another office with no cost to the court or the offender.
Georgia Probation Management, at no additional cost to the court or probationer, locates potential Community Service Work agencies within the local community, and prepares all the necessary approval documentation to be accepted by the court. Community Service Work hours are maintained on our computer system for each probationer. Supporting documentation can be provided by the Community Service Work agencies.
Georgia Probation Management collects fines, statutory surcharges, restitution and other court ordered monies. Our computer information system ensures an efficient and accurate method of accountability and reporting of collections and disbursements as ordered by the court.
